This month’s featured cause is Athlete Ally, an organisation focused on fighting homophobia and transphobia in sports. They offer workshops in diverse educational levels as well as working together with sports organisations and leagues as the NFL and the NBA, towards inclusion and implementation of better policies:

We mobilize Ambassadors in collegiate, professional and Olympic sports who work to foster “allyship” in their athletic environments. The programs include Ambassadors from over 80 colleges and over 100 professional athletes.

Here is a video by founder Hudson Taylor about the history of the organisation:

Athlete Ally is a non-profit organisation dedicated to educating and empowering the straight allies in sports to speak out against homophobia and transphobia.

Hudson also co-authored ‘Champions of Respect’, the NCAA’s guide for ‘Inclusion of LGBTQ Student-Athletes and Staff in NCAA Programs’.

You can download the PDF from NCAA Publications’ website for free.
